Quebee is the personal video camera that allows YOU to be in the moment. It’s your own personal camera man - you are part of the show.
The way we capture personal video is about to change
Are you sick of shaky one dimensional videos taken from your smart phone? Perhaps you are fed up with holding the camera and not being part of what is happening? Ever wish you could just enjoy the moment without worrying about capturing it?
Meet Quebee - your own personal camera man, enabling you to be in the moment. No more standing on the sidelines, it's time for you to be part of the action!
Intuitive and fun to use
Quebee offers an unbeatable user experience, it's the camera you place, not hold. Place Quebee anywhere - on a rock, a tree branch, a shelf ... then press the button, and get in the action.
Best of All Quebee has FIVE HOURS of battery life. Yes, 5 hours of continuous full HD recording, and up to TWO DAYS of recording in time lapse mode. No batteries, no cables, just place, and be in your stories!
The smartphone app is your Quebee control panel, choose video, time-lapse, or still mode. Frame your scenes and edit settings as needed. When in range of wifi Quebee will upload your videos to the cloud and you'll be alerted when they are ready to edit.

Quebee's work together to create great video..
You no longer need a film crew to set up and capture great video from multiple angles. Multiple Quebees can be configured to sync together and be controlled from one smartphone. Using the multi features of the Quebee app you can do the following:
- View a live feed from each camera
- Set up and control cameras independently or all at once
- Start and stop all cameras with one press
- Video files from synced cameras are making it easy for editing
We have put together a multi angle kit of three pre-configured Quebees in a rugged carry case. which is perfect for film makers, event organizers, or even amateurs who just want to make great videos.
Where are we in development?
We've come a long way since we first set out on our mission. We now have a proven electronics design, a working app, and have built 6 working prototypes which we have been testing furiously.
Here is a video demonstrating the current functionality of the working prototypes and app. We are using an iPhone 5s, our prototype app, and our working prototype 'Silver'.
We have developed and refined the form and mechanical function of quebee and built 4 'looks like' prototypes for the video and photo shoot. We are pleased with how it has evolved and expect only minor changes between now and production.
We have designed a smartphone app and built a working prototype which allows the following basic functions: connect to quebee, view a live feed, change camera settings, remote record, browse and playback videos, and save videos to phone.
What comes next?
We have a proven electronics design, along with our prototype firmware, smartphone applications, and cloud service. The next steps for us are to finalize our mechanical design and PCB layout and work with our manufacturer for volume production. While the hardware and mechanical engineers are busy the software team will finalize the various software components which include:
- Firmware - software running on the device itself
- Apps - software that runs on your Smartphone and
- Web services - software the runs on the web server (the "backend")
It's all pretty exciting, and we're so, however we need your help to get quebee production ready, and pay for tooling and our first manufacturing run.
Want to see some prototype footage?
We've been having a lot of fun experimenting with the working prototypes, and have learned so much from it which we are feeding back into the product development. If you want to check out some footage visit our vimeo page.

The Quebee Story
A lot of fun has been had, a lot of challenges overcome, and a lot of moments captured and we want to share some of the story.
Over 300 sketches were generated to develop Quebee!
...countless co-creation brainstorm sessions took place
...we created the Quebee brand .... we love it!
...a lot of time was spent in solidworks (3D CAD)
... lots of prototypes were 3D printed
... lots of soldering and tinkering
... did we mention LOTS OF PROTOTYPES?
Meet the team
We are a strong team of experienced and talented designers, engineers, and software specialists. We collaborate closely with industry experts, and a loyal group of users/testers who have helped us to shape Quebee into what it is.
Our specialist electronics and software engineers have been designing miniature cameras for international manufacture since 2007 and have established direct partnerships with manufacturers in Asia and have won numerous awards for video products including Honoree at the 2011 CES Premier Consumer Electronics show.
Our industrial designers and mechanical engineers have been designing and developing user friendly products since 2006 and work closely with several Chinese manufacturers. They have won numerous NZ design awards for their innovative work.
Special Thanks
A special thanks must go to the people and companies listed below, we couldn't have done this without your help and tremendous effort.
Risks and challenges
The main challenge ahead lies with getting the product through to production, as is the case with any product. We've done it plenty of times before, however there are always small hurdles to jump along the way, and we will be spending time with our manufacturers to make sure nothing but a high quality product is delivered.
